In a community called the Sunshine Home, peaceful lives were broken by sudden-onset viruses. At first, it was Master Li in the community who showed signs of heat and cough, initially thought to be a common cold, but in a few days the number of people with similar symptoms was growing. The community doctor was alert and immediately briefed the community leader and recommended quarantine observation and nucleic acid testing for patients with symptoms. Community workers act quickly, on the one hand, by disseminating information about the protection of the virus to the population through radio, micro-clinics and so forth, and, on the other hand, by making it possible to stay at home and to reduce the number of trips; and, on the other hand, by coordinating, on an urgent basis, the establishment of temporary isolation points, the placement of people with symptoms and the placement of tests at higher levels of care. Volunteers have also come forward to help with the distribution of epidemiological materials, the delivery of food and medicine to isolated residents and the provision of basic support. After several days of intense testing and screening, the extent and source of the virus was finally determined. Formerly a resident who had returned from the field had taken the virus into the community without knowledge, and the lack of protection in public areas had led to the transmission of the virus. When the situation is clear, the community has increased its control, fully disinfecting the area, continuously tracking close contacts and placing them under quarantine control. With the cooperation of the entire population and the joint efforts of health workers, community workers and volunteers, the Sunshine Home Community has finally managed to control the spread of the virus. Following this wave, which has brought community residents closer together and raised awareness of the importance of community protection and control in safeguarding the health of their homes, a better public health response mechanism has been put in place to deal with possible similar situations.
