The rheumatism said that the hyenas, the joint malformations caused by the rheumatism, were the key to early treatment.
The rheumatism arthritis, a chronic whole-of-the-body immune disease characterized by arthritis, not only causes joint pain and swelling, but, more seriously, it gradually destroys our joint structure, leading to joint malformations and greatly affecting the quality of life of patients.
The survey data show that the rate of degenerative disability of people with rheumatism aged over five years is as high as 43.5 per cent, and the incidence of disability and functional limitations is increasing significantly as the path goes on.
Why is the rheumatism a joint abnormality?
Rheumatism leads to joint malformations, essentially because of the continuous destruction of joint structures by inflammation.
The persistence of filamentitis is associated not only with the growth and fibrosis of the filamental tissue, but also with the damage to soft tissues such as joints, ligatures and mussels, thus affecting the normal form of the joints and the support structure, leading to the dislocated or semi-depositioning of the joints.
In addition, the emergence of new blood vessels that are produced during the glanditis can slip into and cover the surface of the joint cartilage, creating so-called “vascular hysteria”, further exacerbating the discharge of inflammatory factors and the immersion of inflammatory cells and causing irreversible damage to the joint cartilage.
Over time, these added organisms can calcify and act in conjunction with the destruction of the joint cartilage, leading to a narrow joint gap that eventually completely alters the joint structure and leads to malformations.
What are the common joint malformations of rheumatism?
Rheumatized joint malformations occur mainly in the small joints of the limbs, in particular the fingers and toes. Common malformations include:
• The deformity of buttons: expressed as the loss of the proximate proficientity of the close finger joints, which is fixed to the convoluted position, while the long end of the interfinger joints are stretched, and the finger on the side looks like a button flower;
• A swan neck malformation: the near-finger joint stretches, the long-finger joints, from the side, like the swan’s neck;
• Telescope malformation: the absorption of the bone end of the finger has resulted in a significant reduction of the finger, the laxity of the joint of the finger, some stretching and some shortening;
`Female deformation’: “Female deformation” occurs when the remote end of the remaining four fingers is tilted towards the side of the small finger, except for the thumb;
• Curvature of the thumb: the big toe bends in the direction of the remaining four toes, the toes rise out and the toes go under the second toe;
• Head finger deformation: the rest of the four toes other than the toes bend in the direction of the toes and above the toes.
These deformities not only affect beauty but, more importantly, the normal functioning of the joints, causing great inconvenience to the lives of patients.
So, what do you do with joint malformations?
Rheumatism-induced joint malformations are often irreversible and even surgery is difficult to fully recover. Therefore, Dr. Huang Yuk has stated that the best treatment strategy is early control of the condition and prevention of further malformations.
1. Medical care
Chinese medicine focuses on a holistic approach and evidence-based treatment, combining treatment through a variety of methods such as Chinese medicine, dressing, acupuncture and handouts.

Acupuncture and massage can be used to stimulate caves and troupe, to reconcile aerobic blood, to alleviate pain and to improve joint function.
2. Western medicine
Western medical treatment consists mainly of medication and surgical treatment. Drug treatment, mainly to improve the state of rheumatism (DMARDs), inflammation drugs (NSAIDs), sugar cortex hormones and biological agents, aims to alleviate pain, control inflammation and slow progress.
Surgical treatment applies to patients with severe joint malformations and severe functional limitations, such as joint replacements and joint integration, to improve joint function and quality of life.
3. Functional exercise
Functional exercise is an important means of preventing and treating joint malformations. Through appropriate exercise, the muscles around the joint can be strengthened, joint activity can be improved and the development of joint deformities can be delayed.
The patient can choose the appropriate exercise, depending on his or her circumstances, such as walking, Tai Chi, swimming, etc.
