How to correctly understand chemotherapy and diet
At present, there are many ways to match chemotherapy drugs, and patients can choose more drugs. Clinically, in addition to ensuring the basic treatment of patients, breast cancer pays more attention to individualized treatment. For example, some patients want to choose drugs with less side effects on the heart, and some want to choose drugs that do not lose hair as much as possible. On the premise of guaranteeing the effect of chemotherapy, they choose chemotherapy drugs according to different people.
Chemotherapy is a systemic treatment that includes intravenous administration. Because chemotherapy drugs can cause damage to the wall of blood vessels, they can not be infused directly through peripheral veins, but through central veins. Chemotherapeutic drugs are commonly infused through infusion ports or PICC catheters. PICC catheterization is performed by puncturing a vein in the peripheral arm with a catheter that goes directly into a large vein near the heart. It avoids the direct contact of chemotherapy drugs with the veins of the arm. The blood flow of large veins is large, and chemotherapy drugs can be quickly diluted to prevent the stimulation of drugs to veins. An infusion port is a closed infusion device that is fully implanted in the body (anterior chest wall) to provide long-term venous access for the patient. Through subcutaneous implantation of the port body, the catheter is connected to establish a central venous channel, which is suitable for long-term chemotherapy needs of cancer patients. Currently, PICC tubes can be retained for up to 1 year, but the infusion port can be used for at least 10 years. At the same time, because the infusion port is completely implanted in the body, unlike the PICC catheter, which is hidden outside the patient’s body, safe and less complications, it has become the first choice for more and more cancer patients in chemotherapy.
The precautions after chemotherapy include paying attention to the mental health of patients, monitoring patients, and eating more nutritious foods, such as eggs, chicken and lean meat. The specific analysis is as follows:
1. Pay attention to the mental health of the patient: Chemotherapy is a way to treat cancer with chemical drugs. After chemotherapy, the family members of the patient need to ensure that the patient is in a better mental state and should chat with the patient more, so as to avoid excessive psychological pressure on the patient, which is not conducive to the recovery of the disease.
2. Monitor the patient well: After chemotherapy, the patient may have some adverse reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, etc. The patient’s family members need to pay close attention to the patient’s physical condition. If there are serious adverse reactions, they need to seek medical treatment in time.
So what are the dietary precautions? Eggs are a kind of nutrient-rich food, which is rich in protein, vitamins, trace elements and other nutrients. Eating eggs in moderation can help patients enhance their resistance and help them recover from diseases. Chicken is rich in protein, amino acids, dietary fiber and other nutrients, which has the effect of benefiting qi, replenishing essence and marrow. Eating chicken in moderation is good for the body and can provide nutrition for the body. Lean meat is rich in nutrients, including high-quality protein, trace elements, vitamins and other nutrients. Eating lean meat in moderation can promote human growth and development.
