Oral Pryrol+ Sclerosis Treatment of Infant Lip Angioma

Age of the child: 1.5 months.

General: The family found an abnormal rise in the upper lip one month after the birth of the child and was informed by the doctor during the 42 days of the examination that the suspected vascular tumor came to my hospital and was diagnosed as an infant and young child vascular tumor.

Treatment: After informing the children of the standardised treatment programme for vascular tumours in infants and young children, the families of the sick children decided to take the oral proprol treatment; although the initial results of the treatment were good, the reduction of the tumours of children with an oral drug six months later was less than 75 per cent, and the recent effect of the treatment, according to the Achauer evaluation criteria, was level III.

As parents feared that residual vascular tumors might lead to lip damage, they volunteered for additional sclerosis treatment, which disappeared after two outpatient sclerosis treatments (two weeks apart) and did not recur in two consecutive return visits.

PS:

Achauer judgement criteria: Class IV (excellent), 75% < tumour reduction 100%; Level III (good), 50% < tumor reduction 75%; Level II (medium), 25% < tumor reduction 50%; Level I (discretion) and 25% < tumor reduction.
