Condyloma acuminatum, also known as venereal warts, is a benign neoplasm of skin and mucosa caused by human papillomavirus, which can be treated by traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine.
1. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment:
1. Type of downward flow of dampness and toxin: The treatment is mainly to remove dampness and turbidity, clear away heat and toxic materials. Recommended herbs include Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Cortex Moutan, Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae, Radix Stephaniae Tetrandrae, Fructus Chaenomelis, Semen Coicis, Cortex Phellodendri, and Radix Sophorae Flavescentis.

2. Western medicine treatment:
1. Internal therapy: Internal therapy mainly uses antiviral drug, such as interferon or acyclovir, for antiviral treatment;
2. Local treatment: Physical therapy includes the use of CO2 laser, high-frequency electrocautery and liquid nitrogen freezing. For external use, 5% fluorouracil or fluorouracil injection, 3% xubuamine cream, trichloroacetic acid solution, podophyllin tincture or podophyllotoxin can be used. Compared with physical therapy, the cure rate and recurrence rate of topical drug therapy may be lower.

acuminatum was treated with a patent prescription of traditional Chinese medicine.
Objective To explore a new method for treating giant condyloma acuminatum (CA) by external washing with patent Chinese medicine prescription. Methods a case of perianal giant condyloma acuminatum treated by Nanjing Youjia Virus Warts Medical Institute in June 2017 was taken as the research object. Patented traditional Chinese medicine preparations were used to give patients a course of treatment for one week, and the outcome was observed and recorded. Results The patient was a 52-year-old male with perianal vegetations for 0.5 years. Physical examination showed that the anus covered cauliflower-like lesions with an anteroposterior diameter of 165 mm and a left-right diameter of 113 mm, and was diagnosed as condyloma acuminatum by pathology. After 3 weeks of treatment, the remaining skin lesions were only 30 mm in anteroposterior diameter and 16 mm in left-right diameter. In the 8th week, the skin lesions were completely exfoliated and the epidermis returned to normal. Conclusion The patent prescription of traditional Chinese medicine for external washing opens up a new method for the treatment of giant condyloma acuminatum.
